Privacy policy

These pages describe MundoFriends, a fictional site operated as part of a Crime at Home game.

1. Who is responsible

The controller of personal data processed through this website is NUMABOL, S.L. (Crime at Home / Crimen en Casa), CIF B05470000, c/ Rubió i Ors n°15, 1-2, 08940 Cornellà de Llobregat, Spain.

Registro Mercantil de Barcelona, Tomo 47843, Folio 145, Hoja 563977, 1ª inscripción, 31 May 2021.

Contact for privacy questions: info@crimeathome.com, telephone +34 937 372 036.

2. Fictional profiles are not personal data of real users

Profiles and posts on MundoFriends are fictional content of a Crime at Home game. A name on a profile is a character, not a customer account and not a claim about a real person.

Searching for a character and opening that profile does not create a social-network account for you.

3. What we actually process

If you only browse or search, we do not ask for your name or email. The site sets a session cookie so the pages and forms can work, as described below.

If you sign in, we store the account username, email address and a hashed password. A successful or failed sign-in is recorded with the IP address and the browser name, so that session can be reviewed and the account can be protected.

The language of the public pages is the address you open, /en or /es. When you use the language switcher, that choice is stored in the session.

We keep cookieless, privacy-friendly aggregated statistics on our own servers. They help us understand overall use of the site. Those statistics do not set a cookie, do not store IP addresses, and do not build a personal profile. They are not shared with third parties and they are not used for advertising. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (GDPR article 6(1)(f)).

We do not use advertising cookies.

4. Cookies

pxfs is the session cookie. It keeps a signed-in session, the form-security token stored in that session, and the language preference saved in the session. By default it can last up to 60 days (SESSION_LIFETIME), unless the browser is set to drop it sooner.

XSRF-TOKEN is a security cookie. It lets the site check that a form was sent from this site and not from another website.

dark-mode is set only if a signed-in person turns dark mode on. It remembers that display choice. It is not set for an ordinary visit or a profile search.

The aggregated statistics do not set a cookie. This policy does not rely on any hosting provider’s cookie.

5. Why

We use this information to show the site, keep sign-in secure, remember the language you chose, and operate the game. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the fictional site and protecting it, and, where an account is used, the steps needed to provide that login.

The aggregated statistics are used only to understand overall use of the site, on the basis of legitimate interest (GDPR article 6(1)(f)).

6. How long

The session cookie follows the session lifetime described above. Sign-in records that include an IP address are kept so the account holder and the operator can review sessions. You can ask us to delete an account that is no longer needed for the game.

Ordinary server logs may include the IP address of a request. They are kept only as part of operating the site, not to build a marketing profile.

The aggregated statistics do not store IP addresses.

7. Who else sees it

We do not sell personal data. Guest searches are not passed to an advertising company. The aggregated statistics stay on our own servers. They are not shared with third parties and they are not used for advertising.

Public fictional profiles can be viewed by anyone who opens them. This copy of the site does not send those profiles to other social-network servers unless the operator separately turns federation on.

We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the people involved in running the game.

8. Your rights

You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection, and you can complain to the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (aepd.es).

Write to info@crimeathome.com. Please say which right you want to use.

9. Children

Crime at Home games are meant for players aged 14 and over. This site is not directed at younger children, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them.

10. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page.
